Never Try To Close On The First Transaction

Have you ever wanted something so bad that you refused to take “no” for an answer?

After 8 months of hard work and follow up I got the opportunity to interview my idol, New York Times Best Selling author Gary Vaynerchuk.

I consider Gary to be the “Ultimate Networker and Relationship Builder.”

In our interview, Gary reveals the most important social media network that young professionals need to be on, and it’s not LinkedIn.

Gary also reveals

  • How to build relationships on Twitter and how those relationships could lead to a job or major career opportunities.
  • Why going to networking events is essential for advancing your career and how it has helped him.

Tylor- Do you think LinkedIn is the best place? I feel that Twitter is the easiest platform to start a conversation and start building the relationship. Then once you get to know each other better you can take it to LinkedIn.

    Thanks for your kind words!

John - As I said in my previous comment, I think the best place to do your networking is where the people you want to meet hang out. In the event multiple platforms are used regularly, I would probably say that LinkedIn would be my network of choice. Though in fairness to your point, our relationship began on Twitter, so touche!

      Take care.

        That’s a good point Tylor!

    Hey John,
Great interview. Congrats on being able to interview someone who is such an influence to you and so many others. While I’m not so sure I agree with Twitter being the best place to find a job, I do think Gary was right on with the strategy. Find out who works in the industry or company you want to be in and connect with/follow/add to circles. Once you do this, engage with them and start to build relationships. Whatever platform they use is the one you should be on.
    Nice interview. Keep it up.
